Urutau V2 Trunnion

The Urutau V2 Trunnion is a precision-machined aluminum upgrade designed for the improved V2 bolt system on the Urutau 9mm bullpup. It replaces the original trunnion interface and works in conjunction with the V2 steel bolt and matching upper receiver to create a stronger, more rigid barrel-to-receiver connection.

This V2-specific trunnion is engineered for use with the CNC steel V2 bolt assembly and typically incorporates a barrel retaining nut system. The aluminum construction provides excellent strength-to-weight ratio while maintaining precise alignment of the barrel, improving accuracy and reducing the chance of loosening under recoil. Many builders pair the Urutau V2 Trunnion with the V2 bolt and a compatible upper for a complete front-end upgrade that significantly enhances overall rigidity and durability.

The original Urutau used a simpler trunnion arrangement suitable for DIY construction. The V2 version is optimized for higher-round-count reliability and better barrel retention, especially when running suppressors or longer barrels. Installation requires the matching V2 upper files (available in the community) and is straightforward for builders already familiar with the platform.

Choosing the Urutau V2 Trunnion is recommended whenever a builder invests in the V2 bolt assembly. Together they form a cohesive upgrade path that moves the Urutau from a basic DIY project into a more professional-grade carbine capable of sustained use. The aluminum material resists wear and maintains tight tolerances, contributing to consistent headspace and reliable function.

For anyone serious about maximizing the performance and longevity of their Urutau, the Urutau V2 Trunnion is an essential companion part to the V2 bolt.
